I have heard that it negates the benefits of conditioning, too. Nope, conditioning still makes a big difference for a 3 roller mill. I actually still double crush mine with a 3 roller mill.

After loosening the screws, just turn the knobs on either side of the mill to adjust each side of the roller gap. Put the feeler gauge into the gap as you adjust the knobs.
